Latino Art Now! The New Wave/La Nueva Ola November 10-13, 2010
I am so proud to have been included in the Latino Art Now! Conference in November at Plaza de la Raza. Karen Mary Davalos from Loyola Marymount University honored me by presently a paper on my work for the Feminist Art Production Panel entitled, "Linda Vallejo: An Arc of Indigenous Spirituality and Indigenist Sensibility." The Inter-University Program for Latino Research (IUPLR) headquartered at the Institute for Latino Studies at the University of Notre Dame in collaboration with the Chicano Studies Research Center (CSRC) at the University of California Los Angeles, and the Centro de Estudio Puertoriquenos at Hunter College presented the third edition of the Latino Art Now! Biennial Conference in November 2010 at Plaza de la Raza Cultural Art Center in Los Angeles. Since 2004, the Latino Art Now! Conference has become the leading national forum for artists, art professionals, educators, scholars, critics, and art dealers. Through dialogue in roundtables and workshops and the presentation of academic scholarship, the conference examined the contemporary state of Latino art in the US and the world and the cultural forces that shape it.
