Fifth Annual International Biennale of Contemporary Art 2005 EXHIBITION DATE December 3 - 11, 2005
Linda Vallejo has been nominated by The International Committee to participate in the Fifth Annual International Biennale of Contemporary Art which will take place from the 3rd to the 11th of December, 2005, in the exhibition space of the historic Fortezza de basso in Florence, Italy. Vallejo will present four oil on canvas works include Our Rock Elders, Sacred Oak, Seedling, and Thunder, Lightning and Rain, all completed in 2005. More than 2000 artists have participated in the Florence Biennale since its inauguration in 1997. In 2001 The United Nations recognized the Florence Biennale as an official partner in the program "Dialogue Among Nations". The steadily increasing number of participating artists demonstrates how this program has found voice within the structure of the Florence Biennale. In 2003, 890 artists from 72 nations, despite their differences of language and faith, found a common language in art to communicate their cultural values, illustrating Kofi Annan's statement. The Biennale is organized under the High Patronage of the President of Italian Republic and has won the official endorsement of from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Region of Tuscany, the Province and the City of Firenze, in addition to many international Embassies. |
