" Art
in the Spirit III"
April 26, 2003
co-hosted by Linda Vallejo, Artist and Victor Raphael, Artist and
Curator
"Art
in the Spirit" is a salon dedicated to sharing friendship, conversation,
and the arts with a focus on the spirit
For this third salon we focused on three vital questions:
* How do we create a balance between the work of the studio, the work of the spirit, and finding an audience in the material world for our art work?
*How does spirituality manifest itself within each individual artist?
*How does art in the spirit present itself in this time of war?
Our guests included:
Elizabeth Bloom, artist

Sam Erenberg, artist
Judi Jordan, writer and director

Artist Elizabeth Bloom
"Art in the Spirit provided a rare sense of community that I think we all hunger for--especially as visual artists. Frequently our lives are insular, devoted to work or in pursuit of our muse in isolation. Linda provided a meeting place where creative people from different cultures, backgrounds ages and gender could interact, show their work, and respond to each other's work. The generosity of spirit, conviviality and the interest of kindred souls was heart-warming and fulfilling. A rare happening in a city as big and complex as L. A. Much thanks to you dear Linda for your big-hearted vision in creating Art in the Spirit Salon!"
